
College facilities and equipment are for the purpose of supporting educational, research and service functions. Use of College facilities, supplies and equipment for personal business or financial gain is prohibited. Removal of equipment and supplies from College property is prohibited without administrative pre-approval. See Policy No. 602 Inventory Management.

A physical inventory of fixed assets – defined as a unit with a base cost equal to or greater than $5000.00 – will be completed each year. A physical inventory of equipment, including fixed assets, will be completed every three years. Each Department within the College is accountable for its fixed assets and equipment. Movement of property or disposal of property must be approved through the Business Office. The College will comply with MnSCU Policy 5.14 Procurement and Contracts, Procedure and 5.14.5 Purchasing and with Part 11. Fixed Assets.

The College assesses a parking user fee to support the cost of annual and long-term parking facility maintenance and renewal. Every vehicle parking on College facilities will be subject to a parking fee. Students who do not bring a vehicle on Campus may file for a refund of the parking fee which is included in the regular tuition and fees billing.

The College recycles as many materials as possible for environmental reasons as well as to avoid the penalties imposed by waste haulers when non-recyclable waste is placed in the wrong container or receptacle. Employees and students are expected to be familiar with the recycling program of the College, and to dispose of materials correctly into the designated receptacles. The College expects employees and students to make every effort to eliminate wasteful practices such as turning lights off in rooms not in use and using materials resourcefully.

The information employed by the College, its students, faculty, and staff is a critical asset of the institution governed by various laws of privacy, confidentiality, and non-disclosure. It is the common responsibility of all members of the College community to protect the institution’s information assets and to ensure the proper and ethical use of information at all times.
Those who use the College’s computer facilities, equipment, or network servers are responsible for understanding and adhering to all College policies, and in particular the Computer Code of Ethics.

The College recognizes the importance of developing and maintaining a Web site on the World Wide Web . The purpose of the college's presence on the World Wide Web is to provide online access to the college whereby internal and external constituents may obtain information about the college, its programs and services. To this end, the college Web site is considered an official college publication which communicates the vision, mission, aims and philosophy of the college. The Web site functions to inform, encourage and persuade individuals to seek higher education in the context of a comprehensive technical college setting. Additionally, the Web site exists to support the instructional process in innovative and creative ways.
Materials placed on the Web site represent Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical, not individual staff or students.
