Integrative medicine incorporates conventional medical practices with alternative techniques from non-Western healing traditions. With proven benefits to patients, integrative medicine is fast becoming accepted as a mainstream approach to health and healing.

Integrative medicine focuses on the person and their symptoms, offering healing through massage, reflexology, healing touch, aromatherapy, Feng Shui, and many other techniques while partnering with traditional medical practice.

Minnesota State College Southeast’s 10-Credit Certificate in Integrative Medicine and Healing is geared to the needs of working adults, with intensive weekend classes taught in Rochester and Red Wing, Minnesota.

Integrative Medicine and Healing is an important wellness tool to use in both our personal and professional lives. Instructors

Jane Coleman, Spring Forest Qigong Certified Instructor, Board Certified Advanced Holistic Nurse (retired), has been a nurse educator for nearly 30 years. She has provided specialized holistic instruction in several states over the last decade. A bridge between Eastern and Western health philosophy, she continues to appreciate the Traditional Chinese Medicine focus on balance as it deftly integrates the five elements, essential nutrition, purposeful feng-shui, acupuncture and the incorporation of (Spring Forest) Qigong practice. A former student of Healing Touch, as well as a Reiki Master and an Integrated Energy Therapy Master, Jane understands energy work to be a key ingredient in physical and emotional wellbeing.

Susanne Cutshall, RN, DNP, APRN, CNS, APHN-BC, HWNC-BC, is a certified adult health clinical nurse specialist with a specialty focus in integrative health. She has a post graduate certificate in complementary therapies and healing practices from the University of Minnesota and is certified as an advanced holistic nurse by the American Holistic Nurses Association. She has training in mind body therapies and several other modalities including acupressure, biofeedback, Reiki and Healing Touch. Susanne is currently working as an Integrative Health Specialist in the Department of General Internal Medicine in Rochester, MN. She is passionate about holistic nursing and integrative health practices and believes that these models of care can be instrumental in transforming our current health care trends.

Christy Olson, MS, RN, has been an RN for over 30 years with experience in management, patient education and entrepreneurial roles. In 2009, she opened her own business, Your Inner Sanctum, a health coaching, hypnotherapy and Feng Shui consulting practice. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Health Coaching Certificate program, the Midwest Academy of Hypnotherapy, and has a Master Level Feng Shui certificate from the Wind and Water School of Feng Shui. As a health coach she utilizes hypnotherapy and Feng Shui to help clients initiate and sustain change in both their internal and external environments.

Sarah Stinson, MS,LPC,CMT,CHTP/I, has worked in the field of mental health and eating disorders for 27 years. She received her Master's in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University in 1991. She has worked at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Wing since 1999. Currently she is the Manager of Behavioral Health, the Healing Arts Coordinator, and an Eating Disorders Therapist. When instructing students, Sarah creates a fun, safe learning environment that inspires individuals to find their true potential. As a practitioner she creates a healing environment for clients to find their higher selves creating balance, health and joy in their lives. Her work is strongly heart centered.
