How does e-learning work?

Instructors and students interact with each other through an interface called Desire2Learn (D2L). D2L stores course materials (e.g., course syllabus, references, tutorials, assignments, discussion questions, tests) and allows students and the instructor to have electronic discussions and send/receive email.

After students register, they are given a user name and password so they can "enter" D2L, access their courseroom, and "attend" their online class.
