Transferring Coursework to Other Schools

Which colleges and universities have articulation agreements with Southeast Technical?

Southeast has articulation agreements with a number of four-year colleges and universities that will allow you to take some or all of your credits and transfer to a baccalaureate program. While some institutions may transfer your associate’s degree directly into a four-year institution at junior standing, other institutions, in contrast, may only accept a certain number of occupational and technical credits. The number of transfer credits varies according to our agreement with each institution. Check with the college or university you are interested in transferring to in order to verify the program and number of credits that will transfer. Courses included in Southeast Technical’s Minnesota Transfer Curriculum Package are transferable to any Minnesota state college or university. The University of Minnesota accepts the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum when it is completed in full.

  • Bachelor of Applied Science – Technology Management
    (Students who have completed an A.A.S., Diploma, or Certificate in the Trade & Technology areas from Minnesota State College Southeast Technical may be eligible.)
• Cardinal Stritch College
• Southwest State University
  • Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Degree
    (Students who have completed an A.A.S degree in Professional Nanny from Minnesota State College Southeast Technical may be eligible.)
  • Bachelor of Applied Science – Management (BASM) Degree
    (Students who have completed an A.A.S degree in Accounting or Supervisory Management from Minnesota State College Southeast Technical may be eligible.)
• Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota
• University of Minnesota
• University of Minnesota/Crookston
• Western Wisconsin Technical College
• Winona State University

Other colleges and universities are also willing to review Southeast Technical credits for transfer on an individual basis. MnSCU Transfer Policy 3.21 addresses comparable or equivalent courses and general electives that may be accepted by receiving institutions.

Will my course transfer?

If you are planning to transfer coursework from Southeast Technical to another college, however, it is important to remember that not every course you take will transfer. Whether a course will transfer depends upon:

• the course content
• when you took the course
• its applicability to the program you wish to pursue in the future

Who can I talk to if I have questions about transferring?

If you know the college you wish to transfer to, contact a counselor at that college. If not, contact a counselor at Southeast Technical to discuss your plans as early as possible.

If you wish to take your general education coursework at Southeast Technical and then transfer to another MnSCU (Minnesota State Colleges and Universities) institution, we offer many courses that meet MnTC guidelines. Courses that meet these guidelines are accepted by all MnSCU institutions.
