Increase or decrease text/font size in your browser

  • To temporarily change text/font size:
    • Click on the View menu.
    • Select Text Size from the drop-down menu. You may then make your preference for larger or smaller text.
  • To permanently change text/font size for all webpages you visit:
    • Click on the Tools menu and selecting Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
    • In the Internet Options window, click the Accessibility button.
    • In the Accessibility window, check the box for “Ignore font sizes specified on web pages” and click the OK button.

Zoom in or out of your screen

  • Click on the View menu.
  • Select Zoom from the drop-down menu.
  • From this menu item, you can select Zoom In (“Ctrl”+“+”), Zoom Out (“Ctrl”+“-“), a preset magnification percentage, or click on the Customize menu item to input your preferred magnification percentage.
  • You can reset the screen to 100% magnification by selecting 100% under the Zoom menu or by selecting Reset (“Ctrl”+“0”).

Change text and background colors

  • Click on the Tools menu.
  • Select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
  • In the Internet Options window, click on the General tab and then click on the Accessibility button.
  • In the Accessibility window, check the box next to “Ignore colors specified on webpages.”
  • You can further customize the colors used in your browser by returning to the Internet Options window, and clicking on the Colors button found on the General tab.

Access closed captions for YouTube videos

Closed captions provide written words for the vocal dialog in videos. You can turn closed captions on or off in YouTube by clicking the “CC” button, located at the bottom of the video player. Please note that YouTube does not require closed captioning for all videos.
