The linking of secondary and post-secondary institutions provides students the opportunity to make a smooth transition from one level to the next without experiencing delays, duplication of courses, or loss of credit.

Advanced standing makes sense when programs are coordinated to:

Local Articulation Process

To initiate course articulation with Southeast Technicalplease follow these steps:

  1. Contact the Tech Prep Office to inform them that you are interested in articulation. They will then set up a meeting with the appropriate staff from either campus.
  2. At the meeting, if there is agreement that a course can be articulated with Southeast Technical, fill out the Request for Articulation form. Be sure that both parties sign the back and include appropriate course information. The Southeast Technical instructor will include a list of outcomes that the high school student needs to demonstrate to be eligible for a certificate.
  3. The Request for Articulation form is then returned to the College's Tech Prep Office. Certificates will then be generated and will be mailed to the instructor along with a copy of the Request for Articulation form.
  4. A Letter of Agreement will then be mailed to the high school principal or superintendent explaining the articulation process and listing the agreements between Southeast Technicaland the high school. The signed original needs to be returned to the Tech Prep Office to keep on file. A copy of the Request for Articulation form will also be mailed at that time as well as a sample certificate.
  5. Articulation agreements need to be updated ONLY when a change in instructor or curriculum is made at either the secondary or post-secondary level. The College Tech Prep Office will monitor changes in articulation agreements.
  6. For more information, contact our Tech Prep Office.
