This test is given to students who indicate that English is not the first language they learned. The Language Usage test has questions on grammar, usage, and vocabulary. This section contains questions in two formats: completing a sentence by filling in a blank with the word or phrase from the choices given, and choosing a sentence that bests combines two sentences that are given.
This test measures your skill in using correct grammar in English sentences.

Two sentences will be followed by four possible answers. Choose the answer that best combines the two sentences. The answer must be a grammatically correct sentence. It must also express the same thought as the first two sentences.

- In the choir to sing, I enjoyed.
- I enjoyed to sing in the choir.
- I enjoyed singing in the choir.
The correct answer is I enjoyed singing in the choir.
