Transfer Policy

Students wishing to transfer credit to Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical must request that an official post-secondary transcript be mailed directly to Southeast Technical from the sending institution. Course syllabi and documentation may also be required for evaluation of all courses for which a student is requesting credit. After all documents have been received and the student has been accepted for admission to a major, the Registrar's Office will review the transcripts. Transfer credits granted shall appear on the transcript and will not be included when calculating the student's GPA.

Transfer of technical credits will only be granted for courses completed within five years of the request for transfer. There is no transfer time limit for general education or elective courses. Transfer credits being considered must have a grade of "A", "B", "C", "M" (Mastery), "P" (Pass) or "S" Satisfactory, and the coursework completed must match at least 75% of the content goals of the Southeast Technical course syllabus for which the student is seeking transfer credit. Some programs may have different requirements.

Students may appeal any transfer decision by requesting an appeal with the campus transfer specialist. Appeal forms are available in the Registrar's Office.
