Endowment

Currently, the Southeast Technical College Foundation’s endowment is over $1.6 million.  The endowment is comprised of 22 endowed funds.  Through these endowments the Foundation is able to award approximately over $94,000 in scholarship support to students annually.

Many individuals, families, and businesses create endowments to leave a legacy that will continue benefitting Southeast Technical College students, the College, and the community for years to come.  The basic concept behind an endowment is that a percentage of the interest earned from the principal investment is utilized to support the intended purpose of the endowment with the remaining interest being reinvested in the fund.  Endowments are often times referred to as the “gifts that keep on giving”.  The power of endowment chart displays this quite nicely.

Establishing an endowment with the Southeast Technical College Foundation is a very powerful way to positively impact our community’s future truly a gift that will positively impact our community An initial gift of $25,000, that annually earns 8 percent interest with the Foundation paying out 5 percent of that interest and reinvesting the remaining 3 percent will provide over $135,000 in support to our College and be valued at over $87,000 in 50 years.
