Giving to Southeast Technical

Southeast Technical offers technical education and training that makes an impact – for students and their families, the workforce, business and industry in our region, and our entire community. We offer students over 70 majors across three campuses, in everything from accounting and band instrument repair, to nursing and truck driving. We provide education, skill enhancement and retraining that fits almost everyone.

Why Your Contribution is Important

Unfortunately, less money is coming from the state to fund public higher education which means Minnesota’s community and technical college students now pay the third highest tuition in the United States among two-year public colleges. Students now borrow at least twice as much for higher education than they did just a decade ago. Escalating tuition is only compounded by additional costs, such as books and supplies, transportation to and from campus, and childcare. For some students, the financial hurdles are so high that they don’t even consider pursuing an education – a decision that could have serious consequences for them, our community, and our state.

That’s why individual contributions are so important. With a financial donation, you can directly support Southeast Technical students in two ways:

1. The Scholarship Fund benefits students right now. Last year, the College Foundation awarded almost $100,000 to students. But more and more students need financial assistance each year.
2. Endowed Scholarship funds are invested and earnings are used to fund scholarships for students for years to come. We now administer 10 endowed scholarships with a value of over $1.3 million. A gift of $10,000 or more can be used to create an endowed scholarship in your name.

We think a Southeast Technical education is valuable, and want to make it accessible to everyone who deserves it. You can make it possible with a generous donation to the Scholarship Fund or to Endowed Scholarships.
