OVERVIEW:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The skills and qualifications required for this position include:

o Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required
o Capable of learning how to operate a forklift - training will be provided

Job Responsibilities

  

 

 §  Maintains machine programs and profiles for new and existing product.

§  Aids the Product group in maintaining product routings, maintaining drawing packets, performing ongoing maintenance, and interpreting instruction/specification for the floor.

§  Assists in process training on processes/products for Production and Support groups.

POSITION TITLE:  Seasonal Construction Technician

JOB SCOPE:  Construction Technicians perform a wide array of duties including, but not limited to; potholing existing underground utilities, working on and around heavy equipment, repairing equipment as needed, maintaining equipment as needed, assisting with underground and aerial Telecommunications Outside Plant construction including main lines and service drops to homes and buildings.   Must possess strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills to address construction, installation and repair issues as well interact with internal and external customers.  Must be able to work an on-call rotation schedule, be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb to heights of 25 feet.  The job will require the ability to distinguish colors within the communications color code.

 

This job requires efficient and safe construction of Telecommunication Outside Plant; an ability to accurately read and interpret schematics and field staking sheets; the ability to work in all types of weather conditions; a positive attitude and the ability to take directions both oral and written; ability to operate a vehicle safely within company guidelines.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

·         Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be capable of learning the safe and proper use of all required tools, vehicles and equipment. Must have the skills to learn the proper installation and repair of the equipment required for delivering HBC’s services. Capable of earning a Power Limited certification in low voltage electricity and must pass DOT certification requirements. Must have and maintain a valid state-issued unexpired driver’s license.  Class A Commercial Driver License is preferred.

 

·         Require to have excellent technical and analytical problem solving abilities.   Must be   capable of working on or near construction equipment to deliver HBC’s services following standard procedures and make proper decisions regarding non-standard processes when required.  Troubleshooting and repair involves making decisions based on a strand set of information/knowledge and knowing where to seek resource information when necessary.

 

·         Must be accountable for the safe and proper use and maintenance of all company equipment and supplies. Must properly install and repair equipment to deliver services to HBC’s external customers and assure that proper procedure are followed inside and outside of customers residences and businesses to avoid damage to their property and equipment.

Drafting/Designer

 

This position translates the ideas, rough sketches, and specifications of the customer/sales

personnel into working plans which are used in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of

company products by performing the following duties:

• Using the C.A.D software, must be able to design and create concept, assembly, and

detail drawings which illustrate the product design.

• Creates shear lists and bill of materials calling out quantities, sizes, and dimensions of

materials used in the fabrication process.

• Create accurate load lists so the shipping department can ship all components for each

job.

• Prepares and transmits submittal drawing packages, including cut sheets, to customers.

• Provide support during the installation process for on-site crews, as well as providing

Two year certificate from college or technical school in drafting/design or the equivalent; three

to five years related experience and/or training in design drafting; or equivalent combination of

education and experience in. Past experience with Inventor and Solid Edge is preferred.
