Committees and workgroups and respective purpose statements are as follows.
The Academic Affairs and Standards Council approve and recommend additions, changes and/or modifications to instructional curriculum. Membership includes faculty and administration with the majority of the membership comprised for faculty. The committee also reviews existing curriculum and instructional policies and provides input for recommended changes as well as input for the development of new policies. In addition, the committee acts as the responsible body that oversees the maintenance of the integrity of curriculum in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of appropriate accrediting agencies. The Executive Vice President is the administrative liaison to the committee.
This committee exists to develop a budget plan and participate in the development of the annual college budget. The committee makes recommendations to the President and his Executive Council regarding fiscal matters. The Director of Finance/CFO is the administrative liaison to the committee. The workgroup members are a cross-section of the college, faculty, staff, and students.
This committee exists to develop and monitor the Technology Plan for the college. The main objective is to improve student learning. In doing so, the committee will recommend expenditures for technology to the President and his Executive Council. Technology expenditures may include computer and hardware solutions as well as non-computer technology solutions. This committee is also charged with the planning for and expenditure of the technology fee collected from students. The Chief Information Officer is the administrative liaison to the committee. The committee members are a cross-section of the college including faculty, staff, and students.
The college-wide safety committee promotes a safer and healthier workplace by monitoring compliance with OSHA standards, monitoring safety procedures and policies, updating staff on safety information and responding to the college’s safety needs. The Director of Human Resources is the administrative liaison. The workgroup memebers are a cross-section of the college, faculty, staff, and students.
The purpose of the Faculty Senate is to provide a forum for faculty to act in full partnership with campus administration in determination of operations, policy and planning prior to decision-making. The Executive Vice President is the administrative liaison.
Student government plays an important role at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical. Elections are held annually to select program representatives and student senate officers. The Winona campus Student Senate and the Red Wing campus Student Senate meet on a regular basis to discuss student concerns, activities and college improvement. Tascha Kinney and Melissa Carrington-Irwin are the Student Senate Advisors for the Red Wing Campas and Gale Lanning is the Student Senate Advisor for the Winona Campus.
