Safety & Security

To provide and maintain a safe working/learning environment is a primary goal for the college. A comprehensive, written safety policy and program is available for your review in the college policy manual. Your supervisor, along with human resources, will identify required safety training specific to your job responsibilities for you to complete.

The college has a college-wide safety committees that meets monthly by ITV. Membership consists of administration, faculty, and support staff. If you are interested in being a committee member, contact the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds at the campus where you are located. Please contact a safety committee member or your supervisor to report any unsafe conditions. The Safety Workgroup Members include:

All campuses have security alarm systems that activate when buildings are closed. Please check with the plant operations department for instructions on how to enter and exit the facility after normal hours of operation.

Contracted security personnel are on duty from 4:30 p.m. through 10:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday during Fall and Spring semesters in Red Wing and from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday during Fall and Spring semester in Winona. Security personnel patrol the parking lot, building, and are available to provide escort service during these hours.
