Karen Fettig and Susan Priem presented at the MNSCU IT Conference 2010 in Brainerd, MN April 26-28, 2010 on “Using the Academic Electronic Medical Record System in Nursing Simulation”.  They presented on electronic medical record training for nursing students, which is imperative to include in nursing curriculum.  Knowledge of this concept will help employees facing state and federal mandates to have electronic medical records in their use in health care.  The EMR is paired with the simulation clinical and has been well received by the students.  This program was a partnership of the Office of the Chancellor’s office and the Health Education Industry Partnership.  They will be presenting again in Duluth during the Academic EMR conference.
