Nation Job - Job search, careers, employment, and resume services for job seekers in Minnesota.

Minnesota Workforce Center - your local Workforce Center can help you to find jobs in your area and around the world.

ISEEK - among many career related features, ISEEK has a job search function that allows you to search by keyword and also to choose from a list of controlled language headings. You may specify a geographical area or search state wide. You must set up an account with ISEEK and may use the service to apply for jobs online.

Minnesota's Job Bank - This service is similar to the one above. You may specify region and the type of job and use the service to apply online. You may post your resume online and use it repeatedly.

Minnesota Department of Employee Relations (DOER) - This is a nice service that does much more than just allow you to search on your own. It has something called a "Job Search Agent." You enter search parameters, specify geographical regions and the type of employment you're looking for. The Agent will continue to look for jobs after you log out and will e-mail any jobs that match your search criteria. You may use their online resume builder, file a resume and apply for most of the jobs online.

County Jobs - most of the counties in Minnesota list job openings on their Web sites.

Newspapers - Both the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and the St Paul Pioneer Press have excellent job search functions. Both will allow you to search their own classified advertisements as well as having larger job search engines. Most of the online newspapers either contain a search function for their classified ads, or allow you to browse the ads.

Wisconsin and the Midwest

Wisconsin Employment Connection - This site is similar to the DOER site for Minnesota. It allows you to search for jobs within the Wisconsin State System. It will also let you create an account, upload a resume and apply for jobs online. The site also contains useful career information.

Midwest Job.Com - though this site sells itself as a midwest site, it really allows you to search all over the nation. You may upload your resume, search, save jobs, get job alerts and also chat. You must set up an account, but the service is free.

Midwest Computerwork.Com - This site is specifically for computer professionals. It allows you to post a resume and search for jobs in the Midwest. It has advanced search capabilities which allow you to narrow results.

Wisconsin Jobs.Com - This site is similar to Minnesota's ISEEK Web site . It allows you to create an account and set up a job search agent to e-mail you relevant jobs.

National Search Engines

USA Jobs - This is a federal job search engine. It lists federal jobs worldwide and is updated daily. You may post a resume and as with the state engines, you can register to receive notices by e-mail.

American Jobs - This site allows you to search for jobs across the country. It also allows you to post a resume which are in turn searched by employers across the country and by the services own human resource people.

America's Job Bank - America's Job Bank also allows you to search for jobs across the country and it will allow you to set up an account and be e-mailed matching jobs. As well as a resume posting function, the service will also allow you to create and store cover letters.

This is just a small sample of the many job search Web sites that are available on the web. In addition, your local Workforce Center can help you to find jobs in your area and around the world. Many of the job search sites have similar functions. Choose a few that work for you.
