National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS)

The NACCAS is recognized by the US. Department of Education as a national agency for the institutional accreditation of postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, including specialized schools. It presently accredits approximately 1,000 institutions which serve over 100,000 students. These schools offer over twenty courses and programs of study which fall under NACCAS’ scope of accreditation. The Web site not only lists accredited programs, but also contains articles and a job search database.

Salon Business Strategies

This is an online version of the magazine, Salon Business Strategies. It does not contain all of the articles from the magazine in full text, but does have a special report and "online only" articles. It also contains a table of content for the paper issues, and the ability to order the magazine online. It also has some nice features for the small salon owner, such as downloadable management software, discussion forums and training opportunities (maily dealing with running a small business).

The Cosmetology Advancement Foundation is an industry not-for-profit organization which functions through an independent board of directors made up of leaders in every segment of the professional beauty salon industry dedicated and committed to professional excellence.

Established to be the unified voice of the professional salon industry, the American Beauty Association's membership includes manufacturers, manufacturer representatives and associated firms, including the most prestigious hair, skin and nail care companies in the United States.

The American Beauty Association has been instrumental in representing the professional salon industry at all levels of government.

Minnesota Department of Commerce - Cosmetology Licensing

The site has all the information and forms you need to become licensed to practice cosmetology in Minnesota. It also lists the courses needed for different cosmetology licenses.
