Step 3: Assess Placement
Minnesota State College Southeast's course placement process determines a student's readiness for coursework in reading, writing, and mathematics. Course placement helps you register for the prerequisite courses and program courses that you need.
Correct course placement:
- Will save you money
- Will save time in completing your program
- Will help you succeed in your classes
Course placement can be based on a number of measurements, such as SAT or ACT scores, Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) scores, or high school GPA.
Transfer students may be placed based on transcripts from their previous college.
Minnesota State College Southeast offers incoming students the opportunity to take the Accuplacer Test to determine placement.
