Kayla Knospe chosen for cosmetology SWAT team - Students With Awesome Talent
We are excited to announce that cosmetology student Kayla Knospe has been selected to participate in the Salon Spa Professional Association's "Students With Awesome Talent" (SWAT) team. Earning her place on the team through an application and interview process, Kayla is the first student to achieve this honor in the history of Southeast Technical Cosmetology program.
The SWAT team is made up of Minnesota cosmetology students who will now have the opportunity to work with masters in their area to advance their technical and artistic skills. The highlight of the SWAT Team's involvement is the first-hand platform artistry experience they receive by participating behind-the-scenes at stage shows.
"This experience will expose Kayla to additional facets of the cosmetology industry, and will be a great opportunity to network," states Cosmetology Instructor Jodi Heim. "As a platform artist, she will have the opportunity to travel widely, showing off her skills in front of audiences and demonstrating the use of various products. She will also educate her fellow cosmetologists."
Kayla adds, "I'm looking forward to learning new techniques and gaining confidence to further my education." Kayla will participate in workshops and shows during the next eight months.
