Lisle Violin Shop is family-owned and has been in business for over 35 years. Our ideal candidate would share our vision to support players at all levels from professionals to beginners. We believe it is essential to ensure that the next generation will carry on the great traditions of classical music.

 

Lisle Violin Shop is seeking experienced string instrument repair specialists for full-time positions in our workshop. These also offer additional training in a variety of repairs and techniques. Lisle Violin Shop maintains the largest string workshop in Texas to support students, teachers, and professional players. Our workshop handles a wide variety of repairs for stringed instruments and bows and setup and maintenance.

 

Experienced Bow Technician - Compensation: Based on experience and education

  • Must have two years of bow restoration/repair or rehair experience or completion of recognized bow rehair/repair school.
  • This position offers an opportunity to gain experience and refinement of rehair techniques. You will also be able to practice other common repairs, such as but not limited to: Replacing head plates, Windings of various materials, Thumb Leathers and replacing eyelets. More advanced bow repair techniques will be taught as skill and ability levels indicate. Shop tools will be provided.

Repair & Setup Specialist - Compensation: Based on experience and education

  • Multiple Positions Available – Based on Specialty Violin/Viola, Cello/Bass, or All
  • Must have two years previous cello/bass repair or setup experience or be a graduate from a known violin making or repair school)
  • This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of new instrument setup as well as a vast array of instrument repairs. Shop tools will be provided

All positions entail the following requirements:

  • Be able to work in one of our four locations (Pasadena, Houston (Bissonnet), Cinco Ranch (Katy), Northwest (Houston).
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Be able to pass a background and drug test.
  • Be able to work Monday - Saturday and some overtime in the summer and fall. Shop hours are 9 am to 6 pm.
  • Be punctual, responsible and accountable.
  • Have at least three verifiable references.

The above positions are full time. There is a 90 day probationary period for these positions. Once the 90 day probationary period is completed, you will have the following benefits: vacation time, Simple IRA, and company provided health insurance. We have an opportunity for you to join the team as a full-time Bulk Driver! As a Bulk Driver, you are responsible for driving the bulk semi-trucks to deliver Gillette Pepsi-Cola products to customers along a designated route in a safe, efficient, reliable manner.

Work Schedule and Pay Rate:

• Full Time

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5 a.m. start

• Regular, daily travel to customer locations

• Pay Rate: $23.30 per hour

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently delivers product to customers along a designated route
  • Unloads products from the truck to the customer's premise
  • Merchandises product at assigned customer accounts. This involves:
  1. Moves products from storerooms or trucks using pallet jacks, handcarts, manual/electric jacks etc. in a safe manner.
  2. Places products on shelves, end caps and displays and in coolers and vending machines etc. according to merchandising standards and brand flow.
  3. Keeps backroom space neat, stocked, and condensed.
  4. Builds displays according to Gillette standards.
  5. Rotates products regularly to avoid outdated product within assigned accounts.
  • Communicates relevant information back to the operations supervisor.
  • Processes invoices and other required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Completes the ordering of product in all assigned accounts to ensure that we are maintaining proper inventory levels on all products.
  • Ensures that orders are submitted by the required deadlines to allow for the efficient order building and loading by warehouse personnel.
  • Provides feedback to Distribution Supervisor or Sales Supervisor regarding issues with customer accounts, competitive activity and/or any problems with meeting customer expectations, merchandising standards, etc.
  • Communicates with Gillette Pepsi sales representatives through day to day discussions to ensure customer expectations are being met, customer specific requests, customer concerns etc. and regularly checks notes on Gillette Link.
  • Builds and maintains a superior customer relationship with customer accounts serviced.
  • Promotes the company and our products in all communications with customers and potential customers.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must possess a Class A, CDL license

• Minimum 1 year working as a CDL, Class A driver

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED

• Previous customer service or stocking experience preferred

• Adept at using a smart phone, Outlook, and general computer software

Job Description:
Assemble and weld metal parts on production line, using welding equipment, requiring only a
limited knowledge of welding techniques.

 
Responsibilities:
Weld or tack welds metal parts together, using spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas
welding equipment.
Connecting hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas, and turns valves to
release mixture.
Igniting torch and regulates flow of gas and air to obtain desired temperature, size, and
color of flame.
Preheating work pieces preparatory to welding or bending, using torch.
Filling cavities or corrects malformation in lead parts and hammers out bulges and bends
in metal work pieces.
Examining work pieces for defects and measuring work pieces, using drawing
specifications, templates, or jigs to ensure conformance with specifications.
Positions and secures workpiece, using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand
tools.
Dismantles metal assemblies or cuts scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such
as flame-cutting torch or plasma-arc equipment.
Selects, positions, and secures torch, cutting tips, or welding rod, according to type,
thickness, area, and desired temperature of metal.
