Miscellaneous Information About the Role: Are you a detailed and organized individual who loves music and has experience working with musical instruments? We’re seeking an Instrument Coordinator, who will oversee a large collection of musical instruments used in St. Olaf’s renowned ensemble program, perform routine instrument maintenance, and coordinate projects. What You’ll Do: Supervise the inventory of College-owned instruments, performing routine maintenance and coordinating larger repairs for woodwind, brass, string and percussion instruments Work with St. Olaf’s exceptional students and renowned ensemble program to facilitate the best musical experiences Work with music faculty to assure the long-term health of our instrument inventory Provide support for the College’s Summer Music Academy, which meets for one week in June Maintain database, track and coordinate projects, and liaise with St. Olaf community Hire, train, and supervise student workers Who You Are: High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in music-related field Maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record Highly qualified applicants will also have: Bachelor’s degree in music-related field Training in instrument repair program 2+ years of experience in musical instrument repair field Experience working in a multi-faceted academic environment This position is a unique opportunity to mentor a wide range of highly motivated students, to work with a dedicated faculty, and to be part of a long tradition of musical excellence.
