Yamaha Corporation of America has an opening for a Warranty Coordinator for the Band & Orchestral instruments. This position is located in Burr Ridge, IL. Here's What You’ll Do: - Provide great customer service by answering the phone and emails and general and technical concerns for dealers and end users by amassing Yamaha specific knowledge. - Answer minor technical questions for repair locations and dealers and input parts orders to order and replace parts for the dealers and Warranty Service Center needs. - Create Return Authorizations to bring defective units back to the Warranty Service Center for inspection to be repaired or replaced. - Create Return Merchandise Authorizations to replace instruments and return the defective ones for dealers when appropriate. - Create UPS “call tag” return labels to send to dealers and end users to return units to the Warranty Service Center or our warehouse. - Arrange truck shipping and return shipping through Yamaha Logistics for appropriate large items and trade show booths. - Create Work Orders for dealers to repair instruments locally when appropriate. - Create Request For Adjustments to credit Yamaha dealers for warranty work performed. - Create Weekly Transfer paperwork to return instruments serviced back to our warehouse from the Warranty Service Center every week. - Receive instruments into Warranty Service Center inventory from the transfer from our warehouse every week. - Start the Field Call or Quality Assurance Report for Yamaha Japan at the beginning of every month to capture all warranty issues from previous month as they arrive including taking pictures. - Learn paperwork and grading of On Hand Damaged instruments that is done on transfer instruments every week. - Boss Trade show booths must be inspected on return and readied to be sent out again. This will require the ability to lift multiple units over 100 lbs. - Learn all aspects of Warranty Service Center function so it runs smoothly in the absence of the Warranty Manager The long term challenge will be to make choices in the way something may be handled on the spot. This includes knowing when to ask questions and return a call to a customer and to learn the large gray area that is part of our daily challenge. Dealing with difficult people and multi tasking on the phone is a skill required for this job. - Perform other duties and participate in projects as needed Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table: Required: - Minimum of 3 years related experience with band instruments. - The ability to play a band instrument is required to support the daily phone discussions with repair technicians, music store owners and end users. - Marching and Concert Percussion is a big part of what we do so background in that is preferred, but not required but must be learned quickly on the job. - Advanced written and verbal communications skills, troubleshooting, telephone skills and customer service skills including dealing with difficult people is essential. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel is required. Oracle accounting software is prominent and can be learned on the job. Also the knowledge of standard office equipment and detail oriented clerical skills such as filing and record keeping. - The ability to lift multiple units over 100 lbs. is required. Preferred: - B.A. preferred and band instrument repair skills is a plus.
