Rice Clarinet Works Assistant Repair Technician Our shop specializes in the repair, maintenance, and customization of clarinets, as well as in the manufacturing of various components. We are looking to hire an Assistant – someone who is interested in clarinet repair & manufacturing and who is reliable, well-rounded, and can assist with many aspects of the business. Detailed Job Description Job title: Assistant Repair Technician Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) Compensation: $11/hr. during training, $14/hr. after training is complete (2-4 months) Location: Princess Anne, MD Work experience and skills No specific experience is required, but experience with any of the following is a plus: Musical instrument repair Familiarity with the clarinet or other musical instrument(s) Experience assisting with the operations of small businesses Sales & marketing Customer service and office duties General computer knowledge, Quickbooks accounting software, social media management Operating heavy machinery (lathe, mill, CNC machines) CAD/CAM Software (AutoCAD, BobCAD) Key Responsibilities & Duties Provide support to the business owner by assisting with clarinet overhauls and repairs and assisting with day-to-day operations of the business. 70% of time spent on stage 2 of the overhaul process (reassembly and adjustment) 30% of time spent on miscellaneous support duties for small business (Billing customers and shipping instruments, keeping records in Quickbooks, answering the phone and booking appointments, managing social media, cleaning the shop, etc.) Applicant Must possess the following attributes: Good customer service skills Punctual Attention to detail Good mechanical/hand tool skills Willing to learn Seeking long-term employment No arrests, DUI, drug use, or wage garnishments (we will do a background check) Please include your resume and a brief statement about why you are interested in a position with our team.
