Job Summary

The General Construction and Roofing Carpenter supports construction crews by performing a wide range of physical tasks on residential and commercial job sites. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople, handling materials, maintaining a safe and organized worksite, and completing general labor duties as directed by supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform carpentry and roofing tasks including framing, window and door installation, and general carpentry
  • Assist with residential and commercial roof repairs/replacements.
  • Prepare and clean job sites, including removing debris and hazardous materials
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Follow all safety procedures, site rules, and company policies
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
  • Perform basic measurements (carpentry and construction math) and material handling
  • Assist with blueprint reading, estimating, and planning jobs
  • Complete tasks efficiently while meeting project schedules and deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or foremen
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred (not always required)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Prior construction or labor experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds regularly

Summary

Responsible for the end-to-end design and fabricating of parts and components to support manufacturing needs. Combines CAD/CAM design with small batch, mixed production hands-on machining using CNC milling and slant bed lathes, welding, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues.   • Fabricate and modify equipment, guards, and fixtures as needed
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations on equipment improvements
  • Support equipment installations, startups, and modifications
  • Document work in CMMS (maintenance management system)
  • Assist with continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiative

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Experience:  Technical degree, apprenticeship in machining or related field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

Required Skills: Ability to design and machine end-to-end; CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar; Experience with manual and CNC; Experience with welding and general fabrication; Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Familiarity with CMMS systems is a plus.
