Dr. Derrick D. Lindstrom, Interim President, Minnesota State College Southeast
Dr. Derrick D. Lindstrom serves as Interim President of Minnesota State College Southeast, bringing nearly two decades of experience within the Minnesota State system.
A first-generation college graduate, he is deeply committed to expanding educational opportunities and supporting student success across diverse communities. Dr. Lindstrom has held several senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Academic Affairs at North Hennepin Community College and Interim Provost and Vice President at Inver Hills Community College.
He began his career as a faculty member in Communication Studies at what was then Minneapolis Community and Technical College (Minneapolis College), an experience that continues to shape his student-centered leadership approach.
Known for his collaborative and transparent leadership style, Dr. Lindstrom focuses on strengthening academic quality, supporting faculty and staff, and building partnerships that connect education to workforce and community needs.
Throughout his career, he has been guided by a deep belief in the transformational power of education, and the vital role community and technical colleges play in creating opportunity, strengthening communities, and preparing students for meaningful lives and careers.
As Interim President, Dr. Lindstrom is committed to ensuring institutional stability, maintaining momentum on key initiatives, and positioning the college for continued success, while engaging with the greater Red Wing and Winona communities.
