Meeting Basic Needs

Minnesota State College Southeast cares about the well-being of our students. We recognize the challenges you may encounter while you are a student with us and we want to be active in our support. Please know that you are not alone!

Basic needs are real needs that can include getting enough to eat, safe and stable housing, access to mental health services, childcare, or having supplies to complete course assignments.

Per your level of comfort, let's chat about the support you may need today, tomorrow, or even next week. Regardless if you are a local resident or an online student, please reach out to Tracy Rahim, Student Life Coordinator & Basic Needs Coordinator, at tracy.rahim@southeastmn.edu. Know you will be met with the promise of confidentiality and compassion.

One Stop Resource for Basic Needs

Minnesota State College Southeast is partnering with Single Stop to offer a "One-Stop-Shop" for vital resources.

Use the benefits screener to check your eligibility for multiple government benefits and community resources. This helps you identify and access benefits such as food assistance, childcare assistance, Medicaid, free tax return preparation, and more! Screening is confidential and completely free of charge. You also can browse basic needs benefits and resources based on your ZIP code.

For access to virtual mental health and wellbeing services through Minnesota State's partnership with Mantra Health, visit the Care Hub or go to the Single Stop website directly.
