Meeting Basic Needs
Minnesota State College Southeast cares about the well-being of our students. We recognize the challenges you may encounter while you are a student with us and we want to be active in our support.
The 2020 Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice #RealCollege survey of students at 28 Minnesota State colleges and universities showed that 37% of respondents were food insecure in the prior 30 days, 48% were housing insecure in the previous year, and 18% experienced homelessness during the previous year. It's a difficult time to be a college student.
Whether it is finding transportation options or assistance with paying utility bills, we’ve gathered resources to help students sustain their basic needs. The topics listed below include links to on-campus resources and community partners.
The needs of students will vary, so we invite you to reach out to Shannon Sullivan, Basic Needs Coordinator, at shannon.sullivan@southeastmn.edu. Please know you will be met with the promise of confidentiality and compassion.
