Electronic equipment is everywhere: in our homes, businesses, factories, vehicles. Continuing advances in electronics have made possible the sweeping technological changes we see all around us. That's why there will always be a high demand for individuals with the training to build, design, and maintain electronic devices.
When you earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology at Minnesota State College Southeast in Winona, you will learn both the theory and practical aspects of electronics. This is a two-year program which includes 15 credits of general college-level education plus 49 credits of technical education specific to Electronics Technology.
Equipped with knowledge of electric and electronic principles, our graduates may work in design, repair, or installation of industrial, automotive or home electronics, and maintenance of these devices. Job duties may include:
Assembly of electronic systems based on technical specifications
Making cable and wiring connections accurately
Performing system tests to evaluate performance and identify defects
Recommending upgrades and modifications to improve system performance
A member of the Electronics Technician Association (ETA)

Delane Frauenkron
A graduate of Minnesota State Southeast Biomed Electronics Program in 2015, Delane has more than a decade of experience working at Winona Health and Emplify Heath (formerly Gundersen), most recently as a Biomed Technician Consultant. A lifelong resident of Houston, Minnesota, Delane operates a small beef farm that has been in his family for 150+ years. Away from work, Delane enjoys coaching, fast-pitch softball, hunting, fishing and anything involving his kids.
