Job Description:
The Gift Processing Specialist manages daily gift deposits to the Business Office, including analysis and processing of daily gift batches in Raiser's Edge NXT. This role produces gift receipts, individualized acknowledgement letters, fundraising metrics reports, and reconciliation reports in accordance with Advancement's 24-48-hour turnaround policy. Main Duties & Responsibilities Collect daily donations received by Advancement, Business Office and other university departments; evaluate, sort and total all donations made to the University on a daily basis in order to create daily gift batches. Manage gift analysis and entry procedure and process daily gift batches in a timely and accurate fashion to adhere to University Advancement's 24-48-hour turnaround receipting/acknowledgment policy. Analyze gifts to determine appropriate campaigns, funds, and appeals for each gift to be processed; select appropriate development officer to write acknowledgement letter based on the above criteria and the source of the gift. Support the development team through verifying, preparing and processing corporate matching gifts for submission to the matching agency; monitor receipt of matching gifts, process and enter matching gifts into the database when they are received. Produce various reports pertaining to the gift entry process, including benefactor lists, fundraising metrics, and financial reconciliation reports; submit and distribute various report requests to Advancement and/or Business Office staff. Produce lists and reports related to gifts by fund, program/project, solicitor and campaign. Coordinate reconciliation and balancing of gift accounts with the Business Office. Serve as the first point of contact for benefactor questions regarding contributions. Process constituent updates as provided via online portal and other means. Maintain updated policies and procedures related to gift processing Oversee gift receipting and acknowledgment communications, including updating template letters on regular basis Other Duties & Responsibilities Add new constituent records to the database as needed; analyze information and populate all appropriate data fields where information is available. Manage and maintain inventory of gift receipting and acknowledgment supplies. Organize, coordinate and maintain the integrity of the hardcopy filing system. Train, supervise and manage student staff, when appropriate and necessary. Perform related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:
Experience and Education Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred 2-4 years experience with database administration preferred, preferably within a college or university setting Essential Knowledge & Skills Advanced computer skills necessary; Raiser's Edge NXT experience preferred. Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly under time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor and constituent information. Physical Demands Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
