Gas Leak Procedure
Gas Leaks are very serious and pose a potential danger for all in the area. In the event of a gas leak in a Minnesota State College Southeast facility, follow these guidelines:
Leave the area immediately, leaving doors and windows open.
Notify the Fire Department 911 immediately from an unaffected area
Notify Maintenance at extension 2770
DO NOT
Do not - smoke in the area
Do not - use any electrical devices such as flashlights, radio, and telephone
Do not - use the fire alarm
Do not - turn on lights or turn on/off any electrical appliances
Do not - use the telephone or radio in the area. They can cause electrical sparks that could ignite the gas fumes.
Keep people out of the area
Evacuate the area if necessary. Do not use fire alarms or elevators for evacuation.
